Although there is a great number of different products and packaging design solutions, most of them look very similar. Considering how strong competition is, it is now more important than ever to make authentic packaging that will stand out on the shelves in stores among other products. Looking beyond what is known and expected while acknowledging tradition, and respecting packaging regulations should make all the difference.
Packaging design can also become a means of storytelling and interaction with consumers, which is, fortunately, becoming more and more present. For Bamboo Spaghetti, I was inspired by the story of Marco Polo's bringing pasta from China to Italy. Even though that theory was never proved to be true, I wanted to acknowledge the fact that some types of pasta really did come from China. Bamboo, which is one of the most prominent symbols of Asia, and Chinese calligraphy came almost instantly to me as the main design elements.

This packaging would be made from recycled paper, which would render it eco-friendly.
